9:00-14:00 #MCE4ALL – WORKSHOP

9 thematic workshops are held in parallel and managed by professional mountaineers, mountain guides and FASI instructors of the UrbanWall staff: it is possible to participate in all the workshops for which booking of the defined session is appreciated and recommended:

  • Session 1: 9:00 – 10:15
  • Session 2: 10:30 – 11:45
  • Session 3: 12:00 – 13:00
11:00-13:00 Boulder Semifinal – “UrbanWall Block” check-out

During the workshops, the TOP athletes and the 4 qualified athletes from Friday will try the 4 blocks of the semifinal. They will have 2 hours available to study the best method to solve these all!


12:00-12:15 LEAD SEMIFINAL OBSERVATION

12:00-12:30 Sport for Nature

The journalist Dario Ricci interviews Stefano Tirelli: mental coach of many sports champions and professor of “Sports complementary techniques” at the Catholic University of Milan, Stefano will illustrate the project “Sport for Nature”. We will travel together to the Svalbard Islands, Iceland and Patagonia to discover the most evocative places on Earth, whose precarious balance is now threatened by pollution and global warming.


ORE 12:30-13:00 MCE20 MAGIC

The magician artist and writer Roberto Bombassei entertains us with his magic and presents the beneficial project he created with the Montura brand and the Italian Cystic Fibrosis League 65 roses for 65 peaks.


13:30-14:00 MCE20 finals in LiveStreaming starts

Aerial dance show with Urban Gravity Academy from Vigevano, an air arts school designed by Veronica Testa on inspiration and in collaboration with Ambra Orfei Circus School.

Formal presentation of the athletes and the format of the competitions.


ORE 14:00-14:30 Jacopo e Barbara time

Jacopo Larcher will talk about the short film RISE, documenting his latest trad venture, the climb of the world-hardest trad-single pitch in Cadarese in March, called Tribe.

Barbara Zangerl, on the other hand, will talk to us about her exploit on the “Sangre de Toro” route on Rote Wand, Lechquellengebirge, in Austria related to the climbing of the south wall and the following ski descent from the north wall.


15:00–16:45 Lead Semifinal “UW Duel”

8 athletes per category including the 4 coming from the Friday qualification will compete in pairs in a breath-taking parallel where it counts both climbing higher but also in the shortest time! The ranking is based on the sum of the results of the two routes, each athlete competes with all the others. 6 athletes enter the final.

17:15–19:45 Boulder Semifinal & Final “UW Block”:

8 athletes will have to solve 4 blocks per category tested in the morning, having 3 minutes each per block;
A Male and a Female athlete will climb together. Ranking formula: attempts / zone / holds;
4 athletes per category will enter the Final and will have to solve 1 previously hided boulder “on sight” in 4 minutes.

Invited Athletes + qualified ones (partial list – still being finalized)

20:15–21:00 Lead Final “UW Duel”:

6 finalists per category will climb an on-sight route, after a vision of the same from the ground (6 minutes available);
A Male and a Female athlete will simultaneously climb;
6 minutes each to define the MCE20 Lead podium!
